Cabling and Bracing

Cabling and bracing are tree preservation methods we use at Lynx Tree Care to improve tree safety and extend the life of trees with specific types of defects. These professional arborist techniques provide structural support for trees that might be at risk of failure due to wind, snow, ice, and/or weight.

Cabling involves the professional installation of cables to support the upper canopy and bracing involves the professional installation of steel rods to bolt together splitting branches or trunks. Many local trees are being removed prematurely due to unjustified perceived risks. We often get calls from property owners who think their trees are dangerous because they are too tall or they have a broken limb in the canopy. In many cases these situations do not require the tree to be removed.

At Lynx Tree Care we assess the health and safety of the tree and when appropriate recommend cabling and/or bracing. When done correctly cabling and bracing can extend the life of a tree while helping to prevent tree failure and mitigate risk.
